Our Mother, Mrs. Gita Verma is 70 years old and she had a problem with spine that worsened due to ageing during the last 1-2 years.

We consulted few orthopaedic doctors in Chennai but somehow did not get any clarity & hence the conviction on the best possible treatment.

We finally landed at SS Spine & Ortho Clinic of Dr. Shanmuga Sundaram (Dr. SS) with a reference from our family physician - Dr. Srivatsan.

We will forever be indebted to him for referring us to Dr. SS.

During the very first meeting, we were amazed at his quick grasp & diagnosis. He explained in great detail the problem and suggested all possible remedies with their respective pros & cons. Haven’t seen many Doctors / Surgeons sharing such details and that lack of info eventually leads to ‘Google Search’ by the patient / attendant and there starts more confusion.

His simplicity & patience while dealing with a senior citizen who has never been operated upon was very thoughtful & touching. At no point did we ever feel being pushed for any decision nor being rushed to wrap-up the conversation during an appointment, in spite of many patients waiting to meet him. A very common sight & practice in most of the clinics these days. These are very important humane aspects of medical treatment.

After the second meeting itself, we as a family decided to go ahead & follow his line of treatment, including the Spine surgery.

It has been 3 months since the surgery happened and the patient is recovering very well, exactly as per the Dr. SS projection. She is able to get back to her normal lifestyle & activity within 3 months of Spine surgery. Although every patient reacts & recovers differently post-surgery, we were pleasantly surprised with the detailed milestones Dr. SS had explained for the recovery period and everything went exactly as we were told.

patient aged 78 , had a fall and fracture. First Doctor assured the patient that we will take care. Diagnosed the patient, though we had MRI reports with us, he simply went on to personal examination and found the problem which is aggravated condition of the earlier problem at L4, L5. explained various options of treatment, inquired about the patients lifestyle and suggested the simplest of treatment -( physiotherapy) first and assured that if problem persist after 7 days of physio strengthening what we should do next also explained. in our opinion, a doctor should have a patient hearing of patient's problems first and then proceed. This is what the doctor did. Nice. assuring doctor who infuse confidence in the patients mind with detailed analytical information. I'll definitely not recommend this doctor to anyone... Please look out for other options. Xray 1500 rupees and consultation 500 rupees.. not worth at all...*** *** *** ********* ***** *** ***** ********* *** ***** ********* ****** **** *** *** ************. I did travel from a far away location seeing his reviews. I'm really frustruated with my first appointment.

The doctor is so friendly and listened to all the problems without hurry. Advised a x-ray and explained the diagnosis in simple language. He did not scare me with medical terms and was ready to help me with all questions I had. He is not the one who recommends various tests without a reason. My first impression was satisfactory and would recommend him. I will revisit him in a week. A special mention about the Physiotherapist Bharath. Very patient and explained the process. Overall a good experience.

I was in very bad condition.. And many doctors failed to identify my condition....and when I finally came to saveetha hospital I met this doctor...really I see god in him..who made me better and alrite now ......I did not have hope at first that I will become alrite....but this doctor proved and brought me to a good condition finally...now I am able to do all my works individually...I don't need any person to help me out..really this doctor is well qualified with great knowledge and experience .....he is kind hearted person and explains my condition well.and brings hope to all the patients including me...really I'm happy now with my family doing all works ..its all because of u sir..first I was in critical stage ....I could not even walk ...I was just lying on the bed and someone has to help me out...but this doctor found my problem and did an operation...which became successfully at last...and I'm happy now doing my works....thank u sir.... I met the doctor today and the experience was very amazing. I had gone regarding my knee pain and the doctor was very friendly and genuine in expaining the cause and how it could be prevented in the future. I feel very confident now and I would recommend him for anybody with bone / spine issues. Thanks !!

I have been here for the second time and I like the way the doctor listens to his patients. Then do a checkup and explain the problem in a way we can understand, followed by medicines. Was very friendly and request the doctor to continue the way he is. The clinic is very neat, spacious with attached x-ray center and a physiotherapist as well.

I have booked an appointment in practo with this doctor. I have got a confirmation message for the appointment. After visiting hospital, person's in there informed like doctor is not coming today. But we didn't get any appointment cancel notification or nothing. If doctor is not available then why they are accepting appointment.. It's waste of our time.
